Walsall were back in action on Tuesday evening as they made their way to Brunton Park, where they took on Carlisle United in a League Two clash.
The Saddlers scored the opening goal of the game after seven minutes of play as Taylor Allen was afforded acres of space in the Cumbrians' penalty area as he netted his seventh goal of the season.
Carlisle, who had created very little of note, levelled the scores midway through the first half when Aaron Hayden grabbed his first goal of the season with a well-placed header past Tommy Simkin.
