Walsall boss Mat Sadler has insisted his team deserved more from the game after they and Gillingham played out a goalless draw at the Priestfield Stadium.
Despite both sides creating a handful of goal-scoring opportunities, neither 'keeper was beaten, with the two teams having to settle for a share of the spoils in front of the Sky Sports+ cameras.
Going into the game with a slender three point advantage at the top of the table, a victory for Bradford City means the Saddlers are now just one point ahead of the Bantams with eight games remaining.
Speaking to George Bennett of the Express & Star, Sadler said: "We had some really good moments in the game.
"There were two really good chances in the first half, and it was pleasing to see us come on strong at the end of the game, especially in the last ten minutes.
"There was a little bit of a stalemate in the second half. We wanted to try and upset the game, and we did so when we flipped it into a two and a one.
"But I felt like they then got the ascendancy from that, so we flipped it quickly back, which helped us wrestle back the control of the game.
"Lots of pleasing performances, really solid performances. There was only one thing missing in the game, which was the goal.
"We were the much better team, we could've and should've won the game, but we'll take that forward."
