Walsall have confirmed the Deadline Day signing Stoke City midfielder Darius Lipsiuc, who arrives at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on loan until the end of the season.
An 19-year-old Republic of Ireland Under 21 international, Darius signed for the Potters from League of Ireland Premier Division side St Patrick’s Athletic in January 2024, and went on to make his Potters debut in the Carabao Cup against Fleetwood Town.
A regular in their Premier League 2 side, Lipsiuc began his career at his local club St Mochta’s before moving to St Patrick’s in the summer of 2021.
After a year in their academy, where he featured in the UEFA Youth League, he made his senior debut against Shamrock Rovers in October 2022.
Lipsiuc has had a fruitful international career, having worked his way up the age groups before making his debut for Ireland’s Under 21s in a 3-2 victory over Sweden, alongside fellow Saddler David Okagbue.
Speaking via the club's official website, Head Coach Mat Sadler admitted he is pleased to add another option to his squad, he said; "I'm happy we've been able to bring Darius in.
"Darius is an all action, powerful midfield player. He wants to run, wants to work hard.
"Thanks to the guys and our relationship with Stoke in allowing us to get this one over the line.
"We actually had Darius in for a few days a couple of weeks ago, so I got to see him first hand.
"He’s got a very good attitude, and he’s another one, alongside Alfie, who fits the mould of the type of player that we want."
