Walsall have confirmed the Deadline Day signing of Milton Keynes Dons forward Ellis Harrison, who arrives at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on loan for the rest of the season.
31-year-old Harrison has made well over 400 career appearances, and already has two promotions on his CV along with a healthy tally of goals, throughout his career.
Beginning at Bristol Rovers, Ellis played an integral role in their promotion back to the EFL from the National League in 2015, under former Saddlers boss Darrell Clarke, scoring 14 times in the league and play-offs that campaign.
He continued to thrive as he helped Rovers make it back-to-back promotions as they reached League One in 2016 and continued to score goals regularly in the third tier which caught the eye of Ipswich Town, who were then in the Championship, in 2018.
A year later, he moved to Portsmouth and scored 20 times during a two-and-a-half-year stint at Fratton Park before signing for Fleetwood Town in January 2022.
In the summer of 2022, Harrison once against linked up with Clarke at Port Vale where his 11 goals helped them retain their League One status that year.
Speaking via the club's official website, Head Coach Mat Sadler welcomed the opportunity to strengthen his forward line, he said: "I’m delighted that we have been able to add Ellis to the group.
"He is one we have been working away on for a good period of time now and one we have had to be patient with, but I am really pleased that we have managed to finally get him over the line.
"He’s something a little bit different to what we have in the group at the moment, and he comes with a wealth of experience which is going to be vital for us in the second half of the season.
"Ellis is a fantastic athlete, he’s got a real hunger to score goals, as he has done throughout his career, and he has a real pedigree in the Football League having played the majority of his career in League One."
