After going five league games without a win, Walsall returned to winning ways last weekend as they defeated Chesterfield 3-1 at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
Goals from Jamille Matt, Ellis Harrison, and Levi Amantchi saw the Saddlers get their promotion push back on track ahead of Saturday's clash with relegation threatened Morecambe.
Last weekend's win may well prove to be the turning point in the season. Despite going some nine games unbeaten in mid-season, the recent winless spell was beginning to impact the club, and any extension of that spell could've made for some difficult boardroom discussions.
Obviously, the result will be almost meaningless if it isn't added to over the coming weeks, but having a seven point advantage with fifteen games remaining puts the team in positive territory once again.

Priestley Farquharson, Jack Earing, and George Hall are joined by Josh Gordon on the injured list as he has been ruled out for two months with a hamstring injury.
OPPOSITION NEWS
Opponents Morecambe sit 23rd in the table ahead of kick-off, and will reach this weekend's match on the back of a midweek defeat to title-chasing Doncaster Rovers, as Rob Street's early goal was enough to take the points.
The Shrimps have won three of their last five home league games and will be looking to gain a modicum of revenge over the Saddlers who defeated them on the opening day of the season.
In therms of team news, the Shrimps could be without goalkeeper Ryan Schofield who left the pitch before half time in midweek, joining fellow stopper Stuart Moore who is also missing through injury.

There have only been eight competitive meetings between the Saddlers and Shrimps, and it's Morecambe who hold a narrow head-to-head lead, having won on four occasions compared to the Saddlers' three.
The first meeting was a Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash which took place at the then-Globe Arena on Tuesday, 1st September 2015, and saw Morecambe win by two-goals-to-nil as Jamie Devitt and Tom Barkhuizen netted in the second forty-five.
THE LAST TIME WE MET
The most recent meeting took place at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on the opening day of the season, Saturday, 10th August 2024, and saw the Saddlers win by a goal-to-nil.
The opening goal of the game saw Saddlers defender Taylor Allen open his account for the season with a well-taken effort from the edge of the Morecambe area.
MATCH OFFICIALS
The EFL has confirmed that Benjamin Speedie who is based on Merseyside will take charge of the match with Bradley Hall and Conor Brown being named as assistant referees, whilst Stephen Rushworth will act as Fourth Official.
