Josh Gordon Facing Another Spell on the Sidelines

The Saddlers have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their televised trip to Morecambe.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall boss Mat Sadler has confirmed that Saddlers winger Josh Gordon will miss the next two months after suffering another hamstring injury.

31-year-old Gordon has made just eleven appearances so far this season and, after being forced off during the recent draw with Gillingham, is set for another spell on the sidelines.

Sitting out the opening four months of the season after undergoing an operation on his hamstring in September, Josh had been looking to reestablish himself in the side.

Meeting with the media ahead of this weekend's televised trip to Morecambe, Sadler confirmed that this injury will not require surgery but could see the former Leicester City prospect miss the remaining three months of the campaign.

Speaking to Express & Star reporter George Bennett, Sadler said: "I mentioned Josh, last week we weren't 100 per cent sure how that looked.

"He has set himself the target of getting back before the end of the season. Whether he will or not?

"I don't know, but that's the time that he has set himself, so it'll be within the range of eight to ten weeks.

"It's a different part of his hamstring. Same leg, different part of it. Fingers crossed he achieves his target and gets back for the last couple of games.

"That's what he's trying to do, that's what we're driving him forward with, but it'll be an eight to ten week gap which is a real shame off the back of the injury he had already had this season."
