Walsall have confirmed the signing of Charlton Athletic defender Nathan Asiimwe, who has joined the club on loan until the end of the season.
20-year-old Asiimwe, who is predominantly a wing-back, has played 28 times and registered three assists for the Addicks since making his debut in the 2022/23 season.
Speaking via the club's official website, Head Coach Mat Sadler admitted he is pleased to acquire the defender’s services for the rest of the campaign, he said: "I’ve been aware of Nathan for the past year or so.
"He played lots of games in the 2023/24 season for Charlton in League One and since then, he’s been someone we’ve watched and been aware of.
"The opportunity came to sign him and we wanted to make sure we are fully stacked for the rest of the season and it was a deal I wanted to get done.
"He’s very athletic, he’s gets up and down, will take his full back on but can also defend. He’s versatile, can play both wing-back sides so that versatility is going to be extremely valuable with the number of games we’ve got coming up between now and the end of the season."
