Mat Sadler Up for December's League Two Manager of the Month Award

The gaffer guided his side through a perfect December.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall boss Mat Sadler is among the nominees for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award for December.

Sadler, who recently penned a new deal in WS1, guided the Saddlers through a perfect month, winning all six league matches, including victories over promotion rivals Notts County, Port Vale and Doncaster Rovers.

You can see all the nominees, below.

Mat Sadler (Walsall)
Sadler’s men began December in second place and ended it with a 12-point lead at the top after six wins from six with an 11-2 goals differential, beating promotion rivals Notts County, Port Vale and Doncaster in the process.

David Artell (Grimsby Town)
Wins have been Grimsby’s currency to join the play-off race. Just one draw in half a season may suggest inconsistency, but it also points to Artell’s ability to follow defeats with victories, four of which came from six December games.

Karl Robinson (Salford City)
It may have taken Robinson’s Salford players time to fully embrace his methods and playing style, but a move into play-off contention was their ample reward in December with 15 points from a possible 18, scoring 11, conceding just one.

Andy Woodman (Bromley)
Woodman continues to move mountains with EFL new boys Bromley, instilling belief into a group of previously non-league players that they can compete. And they did, moving into the top half with 14 points from six unbeaten games.

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies, with winners announced on, Friday, 10th January.
