Lincoln City Boss Issues Freddie Draper Transfer Update

The Saddlers were said to be close to securing the services of the former loanee last week.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsAs rumours continue to link Walsall with a move for Lincoln City striker, and former Saddlers loanee, Freddie Draper, City head coach Michael Skubala has issued an update to members of the media.

With the Saddlers looking to replace the goals lost following Nathan Lowe's return to Stoke City, the media were quick to suggest that the Saddlers and Imps were close to agreeing a deal, however, Skubala ha insisted there is no such deal.

Speaking shortly after the Imps' 1-0 win over Northampton Town on Saturday afternoon, he said: "No. He is not leaving the club.

"He’s part of us and at this moment in time, he will not be leaving the club. He gives us something different and is one of our own who we want to look after.

"He’s still got development to do, but he’s staying with us.

"We really believe in Freddie and I think today (Saturday), in those types of games, you can see where Freddie comes alive.

"He was holding it up for us. I thought he was great, and he showed why he is at the club."

Twenty-year-old Draper, who started the Imps' meeting with the Cobblers at the weekend, has scored just three goals across thirty-one first-team appearances so far this season.
