Walsall have been drawn away to either Peterborough United or Northampton Town in the Vertu Trophy - Round of 16.The draw took place live on Sky Sports Football as Sky Sports’ David Prutton was joined by former Northern Ireland international, Stuart Dallas and current Portsmouth forward Colby Bishop.
Walsall secured their place in the Round of 16 with a midweek penalty shoot-out victory over League One outfit Reading in the Round of 32, as goalkeeper Sam Hornby took centre stage.
Meanwhile, the remaining two Round of 32 ties – Blackpool v Aston Villa Under-21s and Peterborough United v Northampton Town – are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 17th December.
Vertu Trophy Round of 16 ties are to take place during the week commencing Monday, 13th January 2025 and be broadcast live on Sky Sports+.
