The EFL has confirmed that the Vertu Trophy Round of 16 Draw will take place live on Sky Sports Football on Saturday, 14th December.Scheduled to take place ahead of the Sky Bet Championship match between Preston North End and Leeds United, Sky Sports’ David Prutton will host the draw alongside former Northern Ireland international, Stuart Dallas and current Portsmouth forward, Colby Bishop, ahead of the match that will kick-off at 12.30pm.
For the Round of 16, the competition will remain regionalised, with Northern and Southern sections.
Walsall made it through to Saturday's draw with a penalty shoot-out win over League One side Reading, Danny Johnson levelling the scores during second-half stoppage time ahead of a shoot-out victory.
Ball numbers will be confirmed later this week.
