Sadler Proud as Walsall Knock Bolton Wanderers Out of the FA Cup

Here is how the gaffer saw the Saddlers' FA Cup clash with Bolton Wanderers.
Walsall boss Mat Sadler spoke of his pride after the Saddlers secured their place in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup following a 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

Josh Sheehan gave Bolton the lead with a superb free-kick ten minutes into the second half, but goals from Liam Gordon and Jamie Jellis saw Walsall through to Sunday's Second Round draw.

The result, which sees the Reds make it out of the First Round for the fourth season on the bounce, is also the third time a League One side has fallen to Sadler's men in cup competitions this season.

Speaking to Express & Star reporter George Bennett, Sadler said: "The amount of supporters that were here today.

"The biggest attendance for a First Round FA Cup game at Bescot and I love that because fair play to the club for putting an incentive out there to get supporters in and they really followed that.

"We've had some good ones and when it's here under the lights, it's a hell of a place to come and it's a difficult place for opposition to come.

"They all loving being with each other. Their attitude is infectious, they work so hard for each other, they work so hard for the team.

"If we have any setbacks then we just want to ride through them when they come and just keep going. Today was another example of that.

"I'm pleased and proud for the football club today because we all came together. No doubt about it, if you finish above them (Bolton) this season.

"I think there's only Birmingham in that division that can maybe lay claim for being a better team."
