Walsall were back in Emirates FA Cup action on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed League One side Charlton Athletic to the Poundland Bescot Stadium for their Second Round clash.
The game got off to something of a slow start with much of the battle taking place in midfield, it was the visitors, however, who would eventually take the lead as Gassan Ahadme slipped the ball past Tommy Simkin with sixteen minutes on the clock.
The Addicks' second goal arrived twelve minutes after the first when Matty Godden circumnavigated a stranded Simkin, who then slipped the ball over the line.
Charlton added a third goal in the latter stages of the second half as Ahadme netted his second of the contest but not before substitute Tyrese Campbell added a fourth in injury time as the Addicks eased into the draw for the Third Round.
