Walsall captain Donervon Daniels and midfielder Brandon Comley and defender David Okagbue were named in their respective countries matchday squads on Thursday evening.
Daniels and Comley, who recently returned to first-team action following spells on the sidelines, retained their starting spots as Montserrat took on St. Vincent and the Grenadines in CONCACAF Nations League — League B — Group A.
Sadly for Montserrat, who had won just one of their previous four group games, they were once again in the losing column. Goals from Steven Pierre and Cornelius Stewart proved to be enough to cancel out a late effort that included a contribution from a familiar face.
The Emerald Boys' late consolation came with an assist from Saddlers skipper Donervon Daniels who headed the ball towards goal where Ashley Boatswain was on hand to ensure the ball crossed the line. However, that proved to be the final goal of the evening.
Meanwhile, David Okagbue was an unused substitute as Ireland Under-21s lost 2-0 to Sweden U21s in Marbella on Thursday evening.
It was a disappointing evening for Ireland as goals from Hammarby defender Hampus Skoglund and Excelsior striker Richie Omorowa saw their opponents ease to victory.
