Walsall were back in Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday afternoon as they made their way to Blundell Park where they took on Grimsby Town.
Looking to secure their first win in three league games, the Saddlers had to be patient as the first goal of the game didn't arrive until the second-half when Jamille Matt grabbed his fourth goal of the campaign to put his side ahead.
Walsall's second goal of the game came via the foot of Jamie Jellis as the former Tamworth midfielder slammed the ball into the top corner from some distance, bagging his third goal of the campaign.
Stoke City loanee Nathan Lowe was the third Saddler to get on the scoresheet as he bagged his seventh goal of an already fruitful campaign as the Grimsby defence continued to fall apart.
The home side grabbed a goal back with around three minutes of normal time remaining as substitute Donovan Wilson took advantage of some sloppy play to dirty Tommy Simkin's sheet.
Walsall reestablished their three-goal cushion in second-half injury time as Danny Johnson came off the bench before slotting the ball into the back of the net.
