Walsall have been linked with a move for former Birmingham City academy prospect Rico Browne.
20-year-old Manchester-born Browne is a product of the Blues' academy system and is a free agent after leaving St. Andrew's in the summer, despite rumours of a new deal.
After rising through the ranks at City, Rico spent much of last season on loan to Rushall Olympic where he made eighteen first-team appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
Playing in central defence and defensive midfield, he would offer the Saddlers another option at the back as with the likes of Donervon Daniels, Oisin McEntee and Priestley Farquharson currently on the sidelines, there is room for fresh legs.
