Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler has praised his team following their successful trip to Salford City's Peninsula Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Looking to build upon their midweek EFL Trophy triumph over Fulham Under-21s, the Saddlers bagged two goals in six second-half minutes to take all three points.
Goals from Nathan Lowe and Charlie Lakin, along with another Tommy Simkin clean sheet, saw the Saddlers move to third in the League Two table, sitting just one point off the top of the table.
Speaking to George Bennett of the Express & Star, Mat sought to praise on-loan Stoke City prospect Lowe, he said: "He's proactive.
"Darren Byfield always talks about how proactive he is and maybe that's striker talk but he's an extremely proactive striker and I think the keeper has pulled off two wonderful saves to keep out one from Charlie and one for Lowey.
"He could've had a couple more and I did contemplate taking him off in the last few minutes but the kid just keeps on running.
"I thought he put in a proper striker's performance."
The gaffer also spoke about how well his team reacted to his half-time team talk as they upped their game, adding more pressure to the Ammies and ultimately grabbing the all-important match-winning goals.
Mat continued: "We spoke at half-time about just being another half a yard brighter and on the front foot both in and out of possession.
"We really wanted to get our wing-backs into the game which we didn't in the first half.
"You saw with the way that Connor and Liam played in that second half how important they are for us.
"They blew them away in that second half and defensively we had to be absolute rocks back there."
