Walsall have confirmed the Transfer Deadline Day signing of Birmingham City midfielder George Hall, who arrives at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on a season-long loan.
20-year-old Hall, who can also operate on the wing, broke through to the Blues' first team aged just 17 and has scored two goals across forty Championship appearances.
A product of City's academy system, George is also a former England Under-19 international and also scored two goals across his six appearances for the Three Lions.
After injury restricted him to a handful of appearances last season, Hall will be hoping to secure as much game time as possible during his stay in WS1.
No stranger to transfer interest, with the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Newcastle United, and Southampton all linked with his signature over recent years.
Speaking via the club's official website, Head Coach Mat Sadler welcomed George to the club, he said: "Thank you to Birmingham City, another one of the local clubs that we work really closely with and have allowed us to have one of their really exciting players out to us.
"George is a player who’s played a lot of football two divisions above over the last few years so he’s a really highly thought of young player.
"I think he will excite fans with his forward running, he’s really good athletically so we’re delighted to have been able to secure what I think is a really good signing for us."
