Walsall were back in action on Saturday afternoon as they took on Tranmere Rovers in a televised League Two clash at Prenton Park.
After winning all of their three games in all competitions, the Saddlers were looking to continue their perfect start as they made their way to the Wirral
Walsall had an early opportunity to open the scoring as former Saddlers Cameron Norman fouled Jamille Matt in the area, Matt stepped up to take the kick but was thwarted by a superb Luke McGee save.
It was the home side that opened the scoring as they took advantage of one of several set pieces when defender Omari Patrick slipped the ball home following a passage of play in and around the Walsall area.
