Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler has confirmed that midfielder Jack Earing is suffering from a hamstring injury but is hoping to see him back in training later this week.
Earing, who is now the Saddlers' longest-serving player, sat out the last three pre-season friendlies with the club's medical team working with him as he looks to make a swift return to fitness.
No stranger to injury issues, Jack missed much of last season via a knee injury before a hamstring issue saw him miss the final eight games of the campaign.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Sadler said: "Hopefully he should train by the end of next week so he’ll be in contention for next Saturday.
"He just felt his hamstring which doesn’t look like it was a bad one so he should be back into the training group hopefully by next week."
