Walsall have confirmed the signing of AFC Fylde defender Connor Barrett, with the right-back penning an initial three-year contract at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
22-year-old Barrett, who the club also tried to sign during the January Transfer Window, is a product of the Leicester City youth system and also spent time with Burnley's development side before joining Kettering Town in the summer of 2021.
Though far from an experienced head, Conor has already made a positive impression on his peers as he was named in the National League North Team of the Season in 2021/22.
After attracting AFC Fylde's attention, Barrett joined the Coasters in 2022, after his Kettering contract ended, and has gone on to make plenty of first-team appearances and was named the Supporters' Player of the Season ahead of his switch to the Saddlers.
Connor will officially join the club when his Fylde contract expires at the end of June, though the Saddlers will face an FA Tribunal as Fylde will be due compensation after the defender turned down an offer on an improved contract.
