Former Walsall Academy prospect Luke Pearce has been named among a handful of players to be released by Southampton as they look ahead to their 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
19-year-old Pearce joined the Saints' Academy from the Saddlers in 2020, and went on to sign his first professional contract with the club in July 2021.
Before moving to the south coast, Luke was an unused substitute against Chelsea Under-21s in the EFL Trophy, the match not going the way of the Saddlers as Chelsea won 3-2.
Signing a two-year scholarship with Southampton in August 2020, Pearce went on to feature regularly for both the under-18s and under-21 side before enjoying loan spells with the likes of Eastbourne Borough, Torquay United, Weston-super-Mare, and, most recently, Dover Athletic.
