Walsall boss Mat Sadler has spoken of his frustration as his side suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Notts County on Saturday afternoon, as they failed to capitalise upon results elsewhere.
Playing in front of representatives of the Trivela Group, including NoFo Brew Co. and DC comic book writer Robert Venditti, Walsall conceded within two minutes of the opening whistle as Macauley Langstaff popped the ball into the back of the net.
County doubled their lead later in the half before the Saddlers netted via half-time substitute Mo Faal, only for the visitors to re-establish their two-goal lead just a few moments later.
Speaking to the assembled, including George Bennett of the Express & Star, shortly after referee Scott Tallis had called for full-time, Sadler admitted the early goal gave his side a mountain to climb.
Sadler said; "Frustrated we conceded so early because it gave us, not a mountain to climb as I still fancied us to get chances against them, but it was a poor start to the game.
"There's no point glossing over that. We need to deal with that. The ball just needs to into the stand and we need to defend from there.
"Then there were many frustrations with the goal that Josh scored which was given as offside but wasn't.
"That would've got us back into the game and gets the momentum moving forward.
"Sometimes football can be like that because errors are made, and that's the same for us because we're all fallible but that didn't go our way today.
"Unfortunately, that led to us not getting that bit of momentum back into the game."
