Statistics, first published by the Football Association, have revealed that Walsall spent some £51,784 on intermediary fees between Wednesday, 1st February 2023 and Thursday, 1st February 2024.
Including the last two transfer windows, Sky Bet League Two as a whole spent £2,421,036, with Wrexham (£347,027), Forest Green Rovers (£266,191), Salford City (£160,147), and Stockport County (£143,148) among the big spenders.
Clubs in the Championship stumped up £61,340,767 to agents and intermediaries, whilst sides in League One spent a total of £5,230,033 in a bid to secure their signings.
Unsurprisingly, the EFL pales in comparison to the Premier League, with clubs in the top flight splashing out £409,592,929, with teams such as Chelsea (£75,140,524) and Manchester City (£60,626,025) sparing no expense.
