Fresh of the back of their midweek Walsall Senior Cup defeat to Lichfield City, the young Saddlers returned to action on Saturday morning as they took on Shrewsbury Town in their latest EFL Youth Alliance outing of the season.
Enduring another difficult season that has seen them struggle to put together a string of positive results, Walsall were once again on the wrong side of a drubbing as goals from Josh Bailey, Dec Hutchings, Jack Loughran, and Jude Collins saw the Shrews ease to victory.
Sitting at the foot of the North West Alliance, the Saddlers have now won just two of their eleven outings and must continue to make positive strides towards consistency, and, although results are not the sole reason for playing at this level of the game, it'd certainly be nice to see the team reaching the levels of success it richly deserves.
