Walsall boss Mat Sadler insisted he enjoyed seeing his side narrowly defeat Alfreton Town by a goal-to-nil in their Emirates FA Cup - Second Round replay on Tuesday evening.
Facing the National League North side for the second time in a week after failing to overcome them in their rescheduled clash, the Saddlers snook past their opponents as Jamille Matt grabbed the only goal of the game early in the first-half.
Sadler, who saw his side make it two wins on the bounce following their welcome victory over Notts County at the weekend, sought to praise his side for their commitment as they stood fir to deny their occasionally-threatening opponents to take their place alongside Southampton in the Third Round.
Speaking to the assembled media, including Paul Berry of the Express & Star, Mat said; "I enjoyed tonight’s game from a lot of perspectives.
"From a coach’s perspective I enjoyed that we settled the game down with a goal early on.
"I would like to have scored more goals but I enjoyed it especially from a team perspective, a togetherness perspective with resilience and never say die attitude.
"In those sorts of games every single person has to contribute – I would have enjoyed it more from a comfort perspective if we had got a second goal but I am stood here now and the work the guys have put in to get the result is a good feeling.
"It shows that they were willing to do whatever it took to win the game."
