Walsall were back in action on Tuesday evening as they made the 165-mile trip to the SO Legal Stadium where they took on promotion-chasing Barrow.
The first goal of the game went the way of the home side as Ben Whitfield received the ball from Niall Canavan before taking a touch and slotting an effort beyond Owen Evans and into the back of the net.
Barrow also netted the second goal of the contest as, with twenty-minutes of the second-half remaining, Canavan added to his earlier assist by dispatching the ball into the back of Jackson Smith's net.
