Walsall defender Liam Gordon was among the starters as Guyana took on Puerto Rico in their latest CONCACAF Nations League - League B Group D outing of the competition.
After winning both of their opening two group games - a 5-1 triumph over Antigua & Barbuda, and a 3-2 victory over the Bahamas - the Golden Jaguars were hoping to make it 100% on Saturday evening.
Sadly for Guyana, they were up against some stiff competition as they visited the Saint Kitts & Nevis Technical Center in Basseterre and took on table-toppers Puerto Rico, who had scored eleven goals across their victories over the Bahamas and Antigua & Barbuda.
Despite easily dealing with their recent opponents, Puerto Rico didn't have their way with Guyana and, despite taking a one-nil win as Lugo striker Leandro Antonetti put his side into the lead after eleven-minutes, three second-half strikes saw Guyana take all three points.
They first levelled the scores on the hour mark as Chicago Fire midfielder Omari Glasgow slotted home before Guyana Defense Force midfielder Kelsey Benjamin added their second just three-minutes later.
Guyana's third goal arrived around five-minutes from full-time as Lewes striker Deon Moore put the ball beyond Joel Serrano and into the back of the Puerto Rico net to give his side a comfortable lead.
Liam, who missed Saturday's 4-1 victory over Gillingham, played for the full ninety-minutes as he continues to enjoy plenty of international tournament football for the Golden Jaguars.
There will be little time for either side to reset as they're due to meet again on Tuesday evening with Guyana hoping to increase their advantage over Puerto Rico in the race for a place in next year's Nations League.
