Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler has admitted he is considering signing a free agent in the wake of Chris Hussey's surprise retirement earlier this week.
Sadler currently has Donervon Daniels, Oisin McEntee, the injured Rollin Menayese, and summer signings Harry Williams and Priestley Farquharson as recognised centre-backs in his first-team squad, but is still considering a swoop.
34-year-old Hussey, a summer signing from Stockport County, made six first-team appearances before opting for life outside the beautiful game, and, although the gaffer has many options, he will consider any viable options that come his way.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Mat said; "I am looking without doubt. But it’s a market which is fraught with people that, at present, haven’t played too many football matches.
"But I am looking, I’ll keep looking and if the opportunity presents itself then we’ll go for it.
"There is plenty of communication and conversations that have been had, but there is nothing that I have wanted to jump on as of yet."
