Walsall goalkeeper George Barrett, midfielder Ronan Maher and forward Marvellous Onabirekhanlen are currently out on loan as they look to gain experience and maybe force their way into Mat Sadler's first-team plans.

Young goalkeeper George Barrett made his Paget Rangers debut on Saturday afternoon as they played host to Smethwick Rangers in the Midland Football League - Division One at Coles Lane.

Barrett, who joined Paget on an initial one-month youth loan last week, played a part in victory as Shevron Channer's hat trick saw his new side take all three points.

It didn't go all their way, however, as it was Smethwick who went into the break with a two-goal lead as they grabbed two late goals to cancel out Channer's ninth-minute opener.

Ronan Maher started as Rushall Olympic played host to Carlton Town in the Second Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

As with Barrett, Maher, who has had to make do with minutes of the bench over recent weeks, played a part in victory as Danny Waldron's brace either side of Sam Mantom's goal proved to be enough to see the Pics safely through to the next round of the world's oldest domestic cup competition.

The former youth international played for around 85 minutes and provided an assist for Waldron's second as he did well to break free of his man and drive up the pitch before feeding Waldron, who did the rest.

This match was also far from a foregone conclusion as the visitors netted via David Adegbola (54'), and Daniel Brown (90') to keep Liam McDonald's side honest as they made their way through.

Marvellous Onabirekhanlen started as Chasetown took on Kidsgrove Athletic in the Northern Premier League - West Division on Saturday afternoon.

Marv, who was ultimately replaced in the second-half, was unable to make it a trio of loanee wins as he and the Scholars slipped to a 2-1 defeat, but he did look dangerous on occasion as he continues his spell away on loan.

Kidsgrove took the lead via Joe Woolley after six-minutes of the first half, but couldn't retain their lead as Luke Yates levelled the scores for Chasetown just two minutes later.

Aaron Bott grabbed what would prove to be the winning goal some ten-minutes before half-time as Chasetown left the game with nothing to show for their efforts.
