The Club has confirmed that Walsall FC Women will return to Poundland Bescot Stadium for their opening game of the 2023/24 season at 6.00pm on Saturday, 2nd September.
Taking place after the first-team take on Colchester United EFC Women will face Darlaston Town (1874) in the West Midlands Regional Women's Football League Division One North.
Having faced Port Vale Women in WS1 last season in their first-ever competitive fixture at the stadium, the Saddlers will be looking to start the new campaign in style, with admission being free.
Supporters will be housed in the Tile Choice Main Stand for this match and any supporter who is at the men’s fixture and would like to stay for the women’s match will be escorted here before the game gets underway.
Manager Steve Guest is excited to be returning to the Poundland Bescot Stadium and is eager for his side to get off to a positive start in front of another bumper crowd.
Speaking via the club's official website, he said; "I’m really pleased we get to start the new season at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
"We had our game against Port Vale here last season in what was a great occasion despite the result so to be able to start our season here is a great opportunity for the girls to showcase how far they have come from last season until now.
"It’s really encouraging that the football club are backing the women’s team with more games at the Bescot and with the backroom staff that have come on board and the players we have brought in and retained over pre-season, it’s all been very positive and I’m looking forward to getting back into action."
The Club hope to see as many supporters come along and support the girls on what is set to be another exciting occasion for everyone connected with Walsall FC and Walsall FC Women!
