Walsall Head Coach spoke of his frustration following the Saddlers' second defeat in three league games as defensive errors saw them lose 4-2 to National League champions Wrexham on Tuesday evening.
Going into the game on the back of a welcome win over Stockport County, Walsall were looking toad to their triumph over the Hatters and possibly cause something of an upset, in the eyes of the media at least..
However, in front of more than 1,100 traveling fans, a handful of defensive errors saw the Red Dragons secure their first league win of the campaign after ending an extended creak from league football last season.
Walsall found the back of the net via Chriss Hussey and an Anthony Frode own goal, but that wasn't enough to see the Saddlers secure three welcome points under the lights in North Wales.
Speaking to the assembled media, including the Express & Star, Mat said; "Football matches are frustrating things. You come with the best intentions of winning it - of course you do.
"When you fall the other side of it, there's an inquest, that's what happens in football. There will be no ignoring some of the good stuff that was there today. We're going to find it really difficult to win a game when you concede four goals.
"When we can eradicate a couple of them. That's what we have to do. We have to fall the right side of some of those moments in the games as we move on.
"That was key message to them. It's a frustrated dressing room, but it's also a dressing room that are together to put the wrongs right on Saturday.
"Sometimes when you have games like that, you're desperate for the next game straight away."
