Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler has confirmed the reason why summer signing Priestley Farquharson was missing from the squad to take on Morecambe on Saturday afternoon.
Farquharson, who joined the Saddlers from Newport County over the summer, was one of a handful of players to be missing from the squad as they continue to deal with a few niggling injuries.
Talking to the media shortly after his side had suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to the Shrimps, Danny Johnson's first-half leveller proving to be nothing more than a consolation effort, Sadler confirmed Priestley pulled his groin during the recent Open Training Session at Poundland Bescot Stadium.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Mat said; "Priestley felt his groin at the Open Training Session the other day and I was a bit worried it was worse than it ended up being.
"That is a positive and now we'll keep assessing him but it'll be days rather than weeks for him. We've just got to make sure that he'll be ok when he does come back in."
