Despite coming up against several of Villa's first-team, Walsall more than held their own and were able to take the lead in the first half as Danny Johnson bagged his second goal in as many games.
Sadly, the Saddlers' lead didn't last forever as Ollie Watkins levelled the scores from the penalty spot a couple of minutes before half-time with neither side able to grab a match-winning goal in the second forty-five.
