Posting on their official Twitter account, Wood confirmed that the match has been cancelled and they will now take on Atherstone a day later than the planned Walsall XI clash.
Their statement said; "Unfortunately, our pre-season friendly against Walsall has been cancelled on Tuesday, 18th July.
"We will play FC Atherstone on Wednesday, 19th as originally planned. We apologise for any inconvenience & wish Walsall the best in the new season."
Managed by former Saddlers scholar Harry Harris, the Wood recently secured promotion from the Midland Football League Premier Division after topping the table.
Neither club has confirmed a reason for the cancellation and, should they do so, we will confirm it as soon as possible.
