Walsall are among a small group of clubs being linked with a move for former FA Halifax Town defender Jesse Debrah.
22-year-old Debrah is a free agent after leaving the Shaymen earlier this week and is understood to be on the radar of several clubs including Barnsley and Lincoln City.
A product of the Millwall academy system, the Croydon-born defender made over sixty first-team appearances for Halifax and was a pivotal part of the club's recent FA Trophy-winning team.
Along with the Shaymen, Jesse has also gained plenty of experience out on loan, with spells at Billericay Town, Eastbourne Borough, and Dulwich Hamlet coming during his time with Millwall.
An England 'C' international, if signed, he would provide more welcome competition in the backline as Walsall boss Mat Sadler looks to build a strong side ahead of the new campaign.
