Following the news that he'd become the Saddlers' first signing of the summer, soon-to-be-former Birmingham City midfielder Ryan Stirk has spoken oof his desire to help the team make progress in 2023/24.
22-year-old Stirk, who will officially join Walsall after his Birmingham City contract expires at the end of the month, also admitted that the prospect of working with Mat Sadler whilst staying local to his family proved to be too tempting to resist.
Speaking via the club's official website, Ryan said; "I’m delighted to get it done. I’ve known for a few weeks that Walsall have been interested.
"It’s local to me, I’ve got a young family and it’s a move that I wanted to get done as soon as I heard about it.
"I’ve worked with the gaffer before when I was a bit younger at Birmingham when he took a few sessions there so I know him, I spoke to him and he sold it to me.
"It’s a great club and I’m looking forward to get going and working with him."
