Walsall defender Liam Gordon was named in the starting eleven as Guyana took on Grenada in their CONCACAF Gold Cup Preliminary Round - First Round meeting on Sunday morning.
Taking place at Inter Miami's DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and with thunderstorms pushing kick-off back to 10.30pm ET, the match got underway at around 3.30am in the UK.
Guyana started the game well and went on to take the lead midway through the first-half as Chicago Fire forward Omair Glasgow put the ball beyond Grenada stopper Reice Charles-Cook.
Kairo Mitchell levelled the scores for Grenada, with the Notts County man ultimately forcing a post-game penalty shootout which Liam Gordon's side would win by five goals to book their place in the Second Round.
Guyana will now have a few days to get ready for their clash with Guadeloupe on Tuesday, with a place in Group D up for grabs.
Should the Golden Jaguars win, they would ensure qualification for the Gold Cup group stage for just the second time in their history.
