Former Walsall loanee Yann Songo'o has been named among the players to be leaving Bradford City when their contracts expire at the end of June.
Bantams boss Mark Hughes is preparing to shape his side for another season in League Two after losing to Carlisle United in their recent Play-Off Semi Final, and has named a handful of players who will not form part of his squad for the 2023/24 campaign.
Yann managed just six first-team appearances for the Saddlers after arriving on loan in the January Transfer Window, with his debut coming as Walsall played host to Leicester City in the Emirates FA Cup.
The 31-year-old made a total of sixty-three appearances for Bradford City, scoring three goals, after joining them in the summer of 2021 under then-manager Derek Adams.
He also worked under Adams at Morecambe during the 2020/21 campaign and played a key role, scoring six goals in 45 matches, to help the Shrimps win promotion to League One via the play-offs.
Songo’o began his career in Spain where he represented Real Zaragoza, Sabadell, and Pobla Mafumet. His next move took him to USA as he joined Sporting Kansas City in 2012.
A loan spell at Orlando City followed before he made his first foray into English Football when he moved to Blackburn Rovers August 2013. He made one senior appearance at Ewood Park and spent time on loan at Ross County, where he first linked up with Adams.
In 2016, Songo’o joined Plymouth Argyle in League Two and helped them win promotion in his first season as the Pilgrims finished second. He spent two more years at Home Park and played a total of 139 times for Argyle, then a year at Scunthorpe United followed before his subsequent moves to Morecambe and Bradford City.
