According to recent reports, Walsall are in talks with former Dunbarton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Sheffield United defender Neill Collins over the club's vacant Head Coach position.
39-year-old Collins, who is currently Head Coach and Technical Director of USL Championship side the Tampa Bay Rowdies, enjoyed an extensive playing career that saw him make around six-hundred first-team appearances with some of his other clubs including Sunderland, Preston North End, and Leeds United.
After playing for Tampa Bay for three seasons, Neill hung up his boots in 2018 and took the reins, where he guided them to the top of the league in 2020, though COVID-19 saw the USL organisers ultimately not award a championship after the Play-Off's were cancelled due to an outbreak.
Collins' side have missed out on promotion two times since the pandemic called off their final, with the team losing the conference final in both 2021 and 2022.
Neither Walsall nor the Tampa Bay Rowdies have offered to comment on the reported discussions with fans left to speculate until a deal materializes.
