Walsall played host to Doncaster Rovers in their final game of what has been a disappointing 2022/23 Sky Bet League Two campaign.
Looking to earn their first win in ten league games, the Saddlers reached the match on the back of a goalless draw with Crawley Town and with hopes of ending the season on a high.
The first half failed to produce any goals, but the same couldn't be said for the second as Conor Wilkinson netted his third goal of an injury-hit campaign to put the Saddlers ahead.
Walsall's goalscoring didn't end there either, as Isaac Hutchinson went on to grab his eighth of the season with a driven shot from inside the Rovers area.
Doncaster were able to halve the deficit later in the half as Bobby Faulkner popped the ball home following a poorly-dealt-with corner.
