A New Favourite Emerges as Walsall Close in on a New Head Coach

Here is our latest look at who might take charge of the Saddlers.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsThere has been plenty of movement in the market as the bookmakers continue to consider who will be in charge of Walsall when they get their 2023/24 League Two campaign underway in August.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Neill Collins has emerged as the new 1/1 favourite to replace Swindon Town boss Michael Flynn in the dugout at Poundland Bescot Stadium, with the Tampa Bay Rowdies boss said to be in discussions with the club.

Also moving up the ranks is former Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Bradford City, Salford City, and Dundee boss Gary Bowyer, who was recently named SPFL Scottish Championship Manager of the Year, and can be backed at odds of 4/1.

Former favourite Kevin Phillips has seen his odds slip to 5/1, with previously fancied prospects David Artell and Danny Cowley dropping to 12/1 with bookmakers BetVictor.

Meanwhile, ex-Walsall striker Troy Deeney has now slipped to 16/1 as the Birmingham City striker is apparently less likely to take charge of his former club.
