Walsall produced their eighteenth draw of the 2022/23 League Two campaign as they and Carlisle United played out a goalless draw at Poundland Bescot Stadium on Easter Monday.
The Saddlers, who have won just two league games since 2022 became 2023, were once again unable to find the back of the net as their slump continued at home to the Cumbrians.
After Hayden White was shown a straight red card for what referee Declan Bourn believed to be a high challenge in the second-half, the Saddlers were able to thwart their opponents' advances and take a share of the spoils.
Speaking to the media shortly after the full-time whistle was blown, Walsall Head Coach Michael Flynn insisted his team was the better of the two before Hayden received his marching orders, he said; "I thought we were the better team up until the sending off, and then we had to make some changes to deal with having ten men.
"The changes were necessary although not necessarily popular and I thought we did well after that to soak up some of the inevitable pressure that came at us.
"We did well to keep our composure against a team who are really fighting to get that third automatic spot."
