Walsall Head Coach Michael Flynn has praised his players and their supporters as the Saddlers returned to winning ways against Gillingham on Saturday afternoon.
Going into the game on the back of a twelve-game winless run, Walsall were finally able to find that winning formula as goals from Isaac Hutchinson and Conor Wilkinson secured all three points.
Adding another clean sheet to their already impressive total, the Saddlers entered another strong defensive display on the way to an all-too-rare victory.
Speaking to the assembled media, including Express & Star reporter Paul Jenkins, Michael first sought to praise the fan, he said; "They have been great in their backing for the majority of the time - even at nil-nil they were encouraging us so I was pleased for them as much as anyone.
"We took our chances well today, and could have had more. Isaac had two good chances, Andy Williams as well, we were always knocking on the door today.
"But the difference was against recently that we did take those chances and we needed to because this run couldn't go on forever.
"I thought we played well as a whole, Donervon Daniels was exceptional as was Brandon Comley and Oisin McEntee.
"There was a lot of positive things but of course, the result was all important and hopefully, I will be able to sleep tonight along with all the players and staff."
The win means the Saddlers now sit just eleven points below the Play-Off places and a healthy seventeen above the relegation zone with ten league games remaining.
