Peter Clarke was named on the bench and Timmy Abraham missed out on a place in the matchday squad as David Unsworth named an unchanged side for Oldham's National League clash with Barent on Tuesday evening.
Not only did Clarke eventually take to the field he capped off a welcome victory as his ninety-second minute goal helped the Latics to three welcome points under the lights at the Hive.
Adding to goals from Ellis Chapman and Mike Fondop-Talum, their efforts bookending Idris Kanu's leveller, Peter, who had replaced Devarn Green with seventeen minutes remaining, got on the end of a John Rooney cross to seal all three points.
Sam Perry started as Leamington made the trip to Oxfordshire and faced Banbury United in the National League North.
The match was a close-run affair with neither side able to secure all three points as, after Jack Stevens had opened the scoring for the Puritans, Jack Edwards put Leamington back on level terms only for Slavi Spasov to put Banbury back in front ahead of Dan Turner eightieth minute equaliser.
Meanwhile, Joe Foulkes wasn't involved as Kidderminster Harriers went out of the Worcestershire Senior Cup at the hands of Stourport Swifts, the Midland Premier League side winning 2-1.
