The Saddlers were hoping to break their winless streak as they made their way to the Suit Direct Stadium to take on Hartlepool United in their latest League Two outing of the season.
The game started brightly with both sides looking to open the scoring, however, it was the Saddlers who would be the ones to break the deadlock as Tom Knowles netted his fourth goal of the season with around twelve minutes of the first half remaining.
Walsall went on to get their second goal of the game four minutes into the second half as Isaac Hutchinson netted his fifth of the campaign to double his side's lead.
Sadly for the Saddlers, their two-goal lead didn't last as, following an off the ball incident, the home side were awarded a penalty which Daniel Kemp was only too happy to convert.
The Saddlers went on to reestablish their two-goal advantage later in the half as Matty Stevens grabbed his first goal of the season, the striker scoring for the first time in twelve appearances for both the Saddlers and parent club, Forest Green Rovers.
The goalscoring didn't end there however, as following a Liam Kinsella challenge, the home side were awarded another penalty, which Kemp was once again able to convert.
Walsall's disappointing end to the game continued on as Connor Jennings went on to level the scores in stoppage time, condemning the Saddlers to their sixth draw in as many games.
