Walsall are being linked with the signing of Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Murphy Mahoney, with the 21-year-old set to join on loan until the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
As first reported by journalist Alan Nixon, Mahoney is set to make the move to Poundland Bescot Stadium in order to provide competition for current first-choice stopper, Owen Evans, who has been the Saddlers' sole first-team 'keeper since the departure of Adam Przybek.
Joining QPR from Wycombe Wanderers in 2012, Murphy has made several appearances across various age groups for Rangers, including his league debut against Preston North End last season.
Enjoying loan spells with the likes of Welling United, Bath City, and Stratford Town, Mahoney has made just sixteen first-team appearances and will need to be at his best if he is to edge Evans out of his place between the sticks.
