According to the latest media reports, Walsall have failed in their most recent bid to sign Mansfield Town striker, Danny Johnson on a permanent basis.
Johnson only recently returned to his parent club after bagging fifteen goals across thirty first-team appearances during a six-month stay at Poundland Bescot Stadium, and is said to be keen to make the move a permanent one.
However, as the Saddlers and Stags continue to battle it out among the club's hoping to secure a place in the end-of-season Play-Offs, the Stags are said to be reluctant to sell to a rival, even as DJ's contract has less than half a year remaining.
Walsall aren't the only club looking to secure Johnson's services, with Colchester United, who were recently rebuffed by Danny, and Hartlepool United also believed to be in the hunt.
