Walsall boss Michael Flynn has spoken ahead of this weekend's FA Cup - Third Round clash between Walsall and Stockport County and admitted there has been no change in the status of on-loan Mansfield Town striker, Danny Johnson.
Johnson has scored thirteen goals across twenty-eight Saddlers appearances and has formed a crucial part of the side that finds itself in the top half of the League Two table.
However, with the expiry of his deal just a week or so away, Flynn admits he's no closer to knowing where DJ's future lies, although he's beginning to believe it won't be at Poundland Bescot Stadium.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Michael said; "Nothing has changed as we sit here – he is a Walsall player until January 15th, that is all we know.
"On that date he will either go back to Mansfield, stay with us, or go to another club but, according to some of the figures quoted, he won’t be at Walsall.
"The longer someone is available the more their value may go up but having said that, a player is only worth what someone is prepared to pay and we have a budget we have to stick to otherwise there is no point having a budget.
"Danny is training with us, is available to play and is hungry for goals, he is a great lad and we would be sorry to lose him but we will have to see what happens."
