Walsall Head Coach Michael Flynn has spoken ahead of this afternoon's League Two meeting between the Saddlers and Swindon Town and confirmed he has been scuppered in his latest bid to add to his squad.
Despite former Walsall loanee Danny Johnson continuing to be the club's primary target, the gaffer is still looking at other avenues as he hopes to strengthen his squad ahead of a potential push for promotion.
Speaking via the club's official website, Saddlers.co.uk, Flynn admitted he had seen a couple of deals fall apart as clubs look to secure the best financial package before parting with their sought-after stars.
"I’ve had a bit of unfortunate luck this morning (Friday), not with the players but with the clubs we’re getting them from but I understand it, they’ve got to make sure they’re right as well," Flynn revealed
"This is the frustrating part of this window because it’s a short window and lots can change in a matter of minutes and hours.
"We’ve got our lists and we’ve got to keep going. Whether you’ve got a lot of money to spend or not a lot of money to spend, it is difficult.
"The players have got to want to come, you’ve got to organise quickly because you want that quick turnaround, everything’s got to be agreed with the parent club so it’s busy, busy, busy."
